Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend was so nice. Carlos' parents and sister Leticia came to visit from NY. I just love when family is here, the joy that it brings to my boys is priceless. We just kind of laid low for the weekend. Caleb was thrilled because there was someone to play baseball with, minus any interruptions. Caleb is fantastic at baseball. He hits the ball so well without a tee, maybe we have another Alex Rodriguez on our hands!!
I have posted some pictures from this weekend. One is of Caleb playing baseball and the other is of Abuela being swung in a blanket (kid at heart). The boys were being swung around and Abuela couldn't miss out on the action!
We hope you had a great weekend!

Beginning and an End to Everything

This week has been marked by different milestones in our sons lives. Noah and Caleb both had their last day of school on Monday. Noah's preschool put on a cute end of the year program for the parents. They sang songs, played the bells and handed out scrapbooks to each child filled with artwork and photos from throughout the year. Noah starts kindergarten in August and will be going to a brand new school just a "stones throw from our house." Caleb will take a year off from preschool since he won't start kindergarten for another 2 years.
Luke had a trying week, on Monday he started to not want to eat which continued on till Tuesday. I thought it was a phase until he woke up from a 5 hour nap and he still didn't want to eat. I called the doctor and they said if he doesn't eat in an hour I should take him to the hospital immediately. He still didn't want to eat so finally Carlos made him a bottle and he drank the whole thing. Wednesday morning he started to do the same thing when I went to feed him so I took him into the doctors and sure enough he has an ear infection in his left ear. He is now on antibiotics and ear drops and is back to eating like a champ! This could mark the beginning of a struggle with his ears, but I am hoping not since Noah and Caleb didn't get too many ear infections (Noah didn't get his first until he was 18 months and Caleb was 8 months).
We hope everyone enjoys the holiday weekend!

Fevers and Showers!

This week has been an eventful one at that! Monday Caleb was sent home from school after he threw up during a school picnic (YIKES!) and he spiked a fever. He was down for a day and then back to his normal self...ahhhhhhhh that break was nice! Then tonight Noah spiked a large fever that wouldn't go down, luckily his body finally reacted to the Motrin and he is feeling cooler but I know he will be down for at least a day.
I have been busy this week planning a shower for my neighbor Desirae who is due with her first baby in 4 weeks! I made up the favors and got together some prizes for games. Cross your fingers that everything turns out well.
Tomorrow is my last MOPS meeting for the school year (starts again in September) so I was busy putting together flowers for our tables so each Mom would have a plant to take home. Our speaker who was suppose to speak backed out so I was on a mission the past few days to find someone to speak and I found 2 woman who were more than willing to, YEAH!!
Then, as if I wasn't busy enough, on Sunday I am officially taking over as the nursery director at our church. Oh well hopefully everything will work out just right!

Happy Mother's Day!

I just want to wish all the wonderful women in my life a Happy Mother's Day! I hope your day was filled with joy and happiness! I had a great day spent with my kids. Carlos had to leave for work this morning but he gave me a beautiful necklace that has my birthstone (garnet) in it before he left for his flight. The boys and I went to church this morning and Luke was dedicated. It was very nice but Luke didn't appreciate being woken up during church. We came home and I put Luke to bed and Noah, Caleb and I watched TV in my bed and I actually got a nap for about 10 minutes before Noah announced he was hungry (a mother's work is never done).
I love being a mother and watching the love in my children's eyes is priceless!

Crocs, Prada and all that Good stuff!

This week has been a great week so far. Carlos was home from Saturday till today when he left for 3 days. We were busy just spending time with each other. We went to the mall and bought the boys each a pair of crocs for the summer. They are easy to slip on shoes and easy to clean, so they should be a great convenience for all here. My Mom sent me a Prada purse!! Love it! I just love purses so much. Thank you! My sister sent me a package with a set of candle holders that I have been wanting, I am so grateful for that too!
Thanks to my Dad, we signed Noah up for swimming lessons at the community pool and we signed Caleb up for the Chautauqua program through our local school district. The program is a learning enrichment program, kind of like a camp but it focuses on different topics like bugs, plants, etc. Should be fun and it will give him an opportunity to be other kids.
Saturday I went to downtown St. Charles with my neighbor Leigh Ann. We had a great time and it was so nice to get to look around at all the nice little shops in the old neighborhood.
Luke is doing so well. He is actually getting on a schedule which is amazing for a 9 week old in this house. He wakes up usually around 7 and is up for about 2 hours and takes a big nap at around 9. He will then take another nap around 2 sleep till 4 and be up till he goes to bed at 8. He wakes up around 2 times during the night but that is just great to me!
Have you checked out our links? I am going to be including a new link to the La Leche League for the soul purpose of letting you all learn the benefits of breastfeeding. For those of you that know me well I am not one to shove info down your throat but lately here in Missouri some woman have just asked me why I breastfeed? In Florida it seems everyone I knew breastfed their babies and here there are very few that do so just wanted to share with you the info and maybe it will answer questions.
OK I will get off my soapbox for now, until later have a great week! The picture is of Luke taken 2 days ago!

Soccer game and Home Depot

Just got back from Noah's soccer game. His team lost, but that is fine he is only 5! Noah loves it smiles from ear to ear but he loves to look at me to make sure I am watching and happy that he is having fun. In the picture Noah is in the orange pants and white shirt under the yellow jersey! After the game we went to Home Depot and the boys built planters for Mother's Day, I did most of building for fear that Luke would wake up and we would have to run and feed him. I will post picutres of both events!

Busy week

This week has been busy. Carlos left on Wednesday and doesn't come back till Saturday and the boys seem to be testing me more than ever, even Noah! They have conquered the idea that guilt trips are a great way to get Mommy upset. Every time we are in the car they ask if they can go to McDonald's and I usually say "no" and their response is "you never take us anywhere!" Poor kids they are so deprived! Noah and Caleb just got sent to their rooms because they saw the neighborhood girls outside and wanted to play. Ummm lets see you just took a bath and it is quarter to 8....NOOOOO! Their response "we never get to play." Wahhhh...So not true! Luke is doing well, that is a plus. He only wakes me up 2 times during the night and is just easy going during the day, phew!
Tomorrow is soccer and I will take some pictures and post them. I am also posting pictures of our landscaping, the bushes are Spiriea (sp?) and the tree is a crimson queen (Japanese maple). I am also posting a picture of Noah at his spirit day parade at his preschool last week. I just love the preschool he goes to and I think he does too!

New Pictures of Luke

Last weekend in April!

Well this weekend we were busy finishing the landscaping in our front yard and around the two trees in our backyard. We tried doing in between the rain that was present most of the weekend. We (Carlos) made a sandbox for the boys in the backyard complete with blue sand and all!
Luke had his 2 month checkup today...sniff, sniff. Can't believe he is 8 weeks already. Anyhow he now weighs 12 pounds exactly and is 23 3/4" long. He is in the 50% percentile for his weight and 75% percentile for height. The doctor says he is perfect which I have to agree on. He also got 4 shots, 2 in each leg and was such a trooper.
Noah and Caleb both had school today and both learned about flowers. Caleb only has 3 more classes left for this year and Noah has 10 left. Then comes the summer which should be fun because I can take a break from shuttling the kids back and forth (and save on gas).
